The Canning Village Office will be closed over the holiday season. Please call ahead to verify if the office is open. Payments can be made at the Canning Post office. For water-related emergencies contact the County of Kings at 690-6195 between 8:30-4:30 or, if after hours, dial 678-4962 for assistance. Bigelow Nature Trail – Grand Opening!
You are invited to attend the grand opening of the beautiful Bigelow Nature Trail, here in Canning, on Sunday, September 25th, 2011. It will be at 969 J. Jordan Rd. (beside the football field), with the opening ceremony beginning at 2:00 pm.

Village of Canning Volunteer Fire Department BBQ Fundraiser
Looking to enjoy some delicious BBQ chicken (and fixings!) and help out with a very worthy cause? The Village of Canning and Area Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a take-away barbecue supper, Sunday, October 2, from 5 – 7 PM. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Brittany Maxner, Canning Princess 2011
The Village of Canning is very honoured to have a wonderful young lady representing us at the 2011 Apple Blossom Festival as well as at other functions throughout the year. Princess Canning 2011, Miss Brittany Maxner, is the 19-year-old daughter of Crystal and Tim Maxner of Canning.
Brittany has completed her second year at Acadia University taking her Bachelor of Business Administration. She loves animals and her passion is horses. Her first job was working for Fraser Equestrian Centre and her interests include reading, piano, voice and violin. She enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
If you would like Brittany to attend a function please contact the Village office at (902) 582-3768 as she will be most happy to attend any community event. The Commission is very proud to have Brittany representing our Community. Congratulations to a lovely Princess!
